2020 Supplementary Volunteer Grants Open2020 Supplementary Volunteer Grants are now open. By Portal Admin - 15th September 2020 - Back to News Member for Morwell Russell Northe wishes to advise organisations and community groups that applications for the 2020 Supplementary Volunteer Grants are now open.
Volunteering Victoria is providing grants of between $1000 and $5000 to help support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers as well as to encourage and increase participation in volunteering activities which are so vitally important across many regional communities.
"Our community is absolutely blessed to have an army of volunteers who make our region such a great place to live" said Mr Northe.
"The purpose of the funding is to support the efforts of volunteers within our community, as well as encourage participation in volunteering" Mr Northe said.
These Grants are to support organisations with a high proportion (over 40%) of volunteers and not for profit organisations.
Successful grants can be utilised for the purposes of purchasing small equipment items; transport costs of volunteers with a disability; fuel costs, training for volunteers; background screening checks for volunteers; documentation requirements; post Covid-19 re-engagement activities for volunteers and adapting practices to support volunteer’s safety in relation to Covid-19.
