2019/10 – Hazelwood Pondage
Item 9.1 | Time of decision: 22:30-37:00
Council directed the Mayor to write to the Premier of Victoria requesting the government to fund a detailed feasibility study of all available options to retain the Hazelwood Pondage as a recreationally accessible waterway. Also request the Premier of Victoria write to ENGIE to cease all works on the Hazelwood Pondage that might jeopardise the future use of the waterway as a recreational waterway.

Council adopted the International Engagement and Investment Strategy and made it available on Council’s Website and all Council Service Centres for public view.
Amendment GC124 - Gippsland Regional Line Upgrades
Item 14.2 | Time of decision: 41:45 – 51:00
Council resolved to write a letter of ‘in principle support’ to the Minister for Planning in relation to Planning Scheme Amendment GC124 which relates to rail facility upgrades in the valley. Council also requested that:
- There be no loss of car parking in Morwell and Traralgon CBD areas as a result of the upgrades.
- A temporary location for the Traralgon and District Arts Society be made available while works are being undertaken and that the Arts Society to return to their current location on completion of the works.
- The proposed second platform at the Morwell station be moved further east towards the Morwell Bus Interchange.
Council also resolved to write to the Minister for Transport Infrastructure regarding the inaction of VicTrack in providing a solution to parking issues that incorporate an outcome for the disused service stations adjacent to Moe and Morwell railway stations.

Road Safety Strategy - Consideration for Endorsement

Council endorsed the Road Safety Strategy 2019-2024 which had been proposed after public consultation. This endorsed strategy will be made available to the public.
Presentation of Draft Mathison Park Management Plan for Public Exhibition

Council endorsed the public exhibition of the draft Mathison Park Management Plan (2019) for a period of four weeks finishing Sunday 1 September 2019. Public Submissions are invited.
Northern Reserve Newborough - Construction of a Netball Court by Newborough Football Netball Club

Council endorse the construction of a netball court by the Newborough Football Netball Club at Northern Reserve Newborough. Subject to external funds being approved.
2018/19 Outdoor Pool Season Review
Item 15.4 | Time of decision: 57:25 – 59:45
Council endorse the following for the 2019/2020 Outdoor Pool Season:
- Operate Outdoor Pool Season from 30 November 2019 to 9 March 2020.
- Open all Outdoor Pools 12pm to 7pm, on days forecast 25 degree or above.
- Open all Outdoor Pools 10am to 7pm, on days forecast 32 degrees or above.
- On days forecast 24.9 degrees or below all Outdoor Pools remain closed.
- Retain free general entry for the Yallourn North Outdoor Pool during the 2019/20 outdoor pool season. Particularly as the Traralgon Outdoor Pool will remain closed during the 2019/20 outdoor pool season due to the construction of the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre.
Also Council are to receive a report after the end of the outdoor pool season regarding the trial including an evaluation of the operating expenses, visitations and community feedback throughout the trial.

CEO Delegations to approve the allocation of additional funding to Contract LCC-545 Redevelopment of Keegan Street Reserve, Morwell

Subject to reallocation of funding being approved by the Federal Government, Council increases the current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) approved delegation of $600,000 (incl. GST) for the redevelopment of the Keegan Street Reserve, Morwell to $750,000 (incl. GST). Council is to receive a report detailing the contract awarded by the CEO.
