Architect appointed for Churchill north and Hazelwood north school upgrades Upgrading primary schools with appointed architects to modern design and quality education facilities. By news@gippsland - 1st April 2021 - Back to News Students at Churchill North Primary School and Hazelwood North Primary School are a step closer to getting the facilities they need for a great start in life, with an architect appointed to design the school’s exciting upgrade.
Hazelwood North Primary School will be upgraded to a better facility for every student and staff
Upgrade design appointment
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced that Studio B Architects has been appointed to design Churchill North Primary school’s $3.448 million upgrade to the school’s C and D blocks.
Furthermore, MSM & Associates has been appointed to design Hazelwood North Primary School’s $2.718 million upgrade, which will modernise the school and include upgrades to block A and the toilet block.
Ensuring quality facility and education
In the past five years, the Labor Government has invested more than $9 billion in more than 1,600 school upgrades – creating more than 10,000 construction jobs – and is now ahead of schedule its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 48 new schools opening between 2019 and 2022. The Labor Government is building the Education State to ensure that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.
Support for the school upgrades
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said, "We’re continuing to invest in new and upgraded school infrastructure in the Valley, so that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers, and every student is given every chance to succeed. Families in Churchill and Hazelwood North are now a step closer to getting the modern, accessible, and fit-for-purpose facilities that students deserve to thrive."
