Morwell ALP meetingThe Morwell branch of the Australian Labor Party’s next meeting will be at 7.00pm Thursday 13th of September with a guest speaker, Mr Mick Murphy Executive Officer of the Baw Baw Latrobe Local Learning & Employment Network. By Howard Williams - 11th September 2007 - Back to News The Morwell branch of the Australian Labor Party’s next meeting will be at 7.00pm Thursday 13th of September with a guest speaker, Mr Mick Murphy Executive Officer of the Baw Baw Latrobe Local Learning & Employment Network. LLENs are a key initiative of the Victorian Government that brings together education, industry, community organisations and government agencies to facilitate Victoria’s young people’s pathway from school to either further education and/or work. LLENs are vital in addressing skills needs and developing new opportunities for young people who are at risk of disengaging from education and training. Mick will outline some of the successes and challenges in this work in the Baw Baw & Latrobe Local Government Areas. Anyone interested in attending the meeting or joining the party can contact President Howard Williams, 5134 2641 or Secretary Kath Hamilton 5122 1650. Through out the year the branch considers issues affecting the community at a local, State & Federal level and welcomes any interested people to join the party.
