Response To Herald Sun Article From Today 30 MarchResponding to the matters raised in today’s Herald Sun article, Bass Coast Shire Council Chief Executive Officer, Allan Bawden, has assured the community there is no need for over-reaction. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 5th April 2007 - Back to News
"The concerns raised in the report are not an area over which this Council has any jurisdiction," Mr Bawden said.
"The news did spark a personal reaction from the Mayor, but, more importantly, what he did say was that Bass Coast is proud of its reputation as a safe community.
"Like the Mayor, I can assure you and all members of the Bass Coast community that our Council works closely with other levels of government and authorities.
"We have confidence that the relevant authorities in this instance have processes that will continue to safeguard our community."
