By Bass Coast Shire Council - 12th August 2009 - Back to News

Bass Coast Shire Council Environment Manager, Paul Smith, said the plan had been sent to adjacent landowners and interested parties, but called on the whole community to provide their feedback.

"The draft master plan proposes seventeen key recommendations for the area," explained Mr Smith.

"This includes constructing new public toilet facilities, an asphalt public car park, creating a BBQ and picnic area and creating timber boardwalks and shared pathways.

"Another recommendation is to retain and protect the exisiting indigenous vegetation within the area, which is a high priority for Council," continued Mr Smith.

"This area of foreshore is a beautiful section of coastline along Anderson Inlet. The proposed master plan looks at highlighting the natural assets of this area, while providing more facilities for the community which are both accessible and user friendly."

Anyone interested in this project, can download a copy of the master plan from Council’s website. Alternatively a copy of the plan can be view from Council’s Customer Service Centre in Inverloch.

Comments received in response to the master plan will form the final recommendations on the activity area.

The master plan options will be on public exhibition from the 12 August 2009 and the submission period will close on the 18 September 2009.

The development of the activity area was identified in the Inverloch Foreshore Reserve – St Kilda Street to Cuttriss Street Masterplan that was developed by Council in February 2008.
