Celebration Among WomenWomen from across Bass Coast are invited to celebrate 2009 International Women’s Day. By Bass Coast Shire Council - 13th February 2009 - Back to News Bass Coast Shire Council is hosting an International Women’s Day lunch at Silverwater Resort on Friday 6 March, between 12noon – 2pm.
Councillors Veronica Dowman and Jane Daly are looking forward to the lunch and encourage other women to come along.
"International Women’s Day is a day of global celebration among women," explained Cr Dowman.
"Last year’s lunch was a great event and tickets sold out quite early."
Councillor Jane Daly welcomed the opportunity to acknowledge the contribution women make to their community.
"I hope we can celebrate the priceless contributions women make across all areas of community life," said Cr Daly.
"A lunch, where women can relax, appreciate each other and feel inspired is a great way to celebrate this important day."
Ticket price is only $30 per person. This includes a glass of champagne on arrival, a two-course meal and glass of wine, entertainment and prizes.
