National Boot DayShoes against suicide By Emma Kae - 20th April 2001 - Back to News National Boot Day was created to raise funding for education into Rural Youth Suicide.
People all over Victoria were asked to wear their boots to work today to show support and aid growth in the awareness of youth suicide.
While the boots may not look great with the latest Collette Dinnigan dress, they symbolise youth culture and rural life, positive factors which deflect from the tragedy of suicide.
As Australia is high amongst the countries with alarming statistics, this problem needs to be given the attention it requires.
Support Boot Day. Get out your gear and help out.
