Victoria Police from the Melbourne Crime Prevention Office and the Melbourne City Council wish to make visitors to Melbourne aware that anti-theft hooks are being fitted to city café tables to foil bag snatchers. Police and Melbourne City Council are rolling out the handbag hooks, which are popular in Europe.
Along with the anti-theft handbag hooks, stickers alerting people to think about where they place their laptops, mobile phones, iPods and other personal property, are being displayed.
As summer approaches and Christmas is just around the corner, police remind people visiting Melbourne to keep a close eye on their property and not to leave any item unattended for even the shortest period of time.
Awareness is the best way to reduce the opportunity for theft or loss.
Mobile Phone Numbers Go Public: All mobile phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls. This is for Australian phone numbers. Below is a link where you can enter your phone numbers online to put an end to telemarketing calls.
Don't just delete these calls, otherwise you may find that you have been signed up for all sorts of extra services that you didn't want or know about. Like special chimes, music etc. https://www.donotcall.gov.au/
