‘Contemporary Aboriginal Spirituality’ is the title of the next iThink Forum to be presented by Robyn Heckenberg, Centre for Australian Indigenous Studies on Tuesday, August 16.

‘Integrating media to enhance distance education in Australia and Internationally’ will be presented by Les Hardy and Jodie Maxfield at the Faculty of Business & Economics Academic Exchange Forum on Tuesday, August 16 at 1pm in the Business & Economics Conference room. The paper highlights how a mix of media have been blended together to provide a range of online assessment activities for students working in an introductory Accounting Unit. There are a number of innovations in terms of media that would have wide general applicability.

Making the Grade

Dr Scott Webster, Faculty of Education at the Gippsland Campus has become the first Gippsland Campus researcher to win a two year Post Doctoral Fellowship. Dr Webster’s project ‘Reconstructing Education: The Discipline, Profession and Courses of Preparation’ was one of five chosen from a very competitive field of applicants. The project will begin in June 2006 and aims to reconstruct education since the post-modern turn in such a way that professional learning remains educative.

The Gippsland Campus Nurse, Vonnie Marion has just completed an Immunisation Practitioners course at Latrobe University and is currently inoculating all first year nursing students prior to their going out on placements to regional and metropolitan hospitals in the next few weeks.

A successful Monash Gippsland ‘Open Day’ was held on Saturday, August 6 from 10am-4pm with prospective students and their parents visiting the campus from the local area, regional and around the State.

"Portrait’s of a Master" is the title of the next free lunchtime concert to be performed by Sarah Grunstein at the Gippsland Campus on August 10 at 1pm. Sarah has performed internationally as a soloist since her triumphant 1984 New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall. Sarah will perform on the piano, Bach’s Partita, Schumann Fantasie.
