Asphalt works coming upRenewal of road surfaces that ensures good service to road users. By Portal Admin - 30th November 2020 - Back to News Asphalt sealing and spray sealing works will be carried out during December, as part of Bass Coast Shire Council’s 2020/21 Capital Works Program.These works are being rolled out on our road network in Wonthaggi, Inverloch, Woodleigh, Krowera and Grantville. 
Infrastructure delivery wishes to inform you that the proposed asphalting works will be starting in February 2021, the council acknowledges that it can be a challenge to deliver the necessary works and not affect road users Renewal of road surfaces ensures that the council's network is sustainable and can continue to provide appropriate levels of service for road users well into the future. The below table indicates the roads that will be targeted for this year’s asphalt sealing program. The start dates indicated are subject to contractor availability and favourable weather conditions and therefore may need rescheduling. Annual road spray sealing programThe following list indicates the roads that will be included in this year's annual road spray sealing program. This program could include crack sealing using a hot bituminous spray, shoulder and verge repairs and road patching works, clearing of open drains and kerb replacement works throughout the Shire. - Albert Ruttle drive, Inverloch (estate entrance to end of court bowl) early/mid December 2020
- Bells Court, Inverloch early to mid February
- Grantville Transfer station (internal access road) 7 and 8 December
- James street, Wonthaggi (between White Road and Morey street) early to mid February
- John Flagg Rise, Inverloch early/mid December 2020
Other roadworks included on the road spray sealing program are: - Nyora St Helier road, Woodleigh (Gurdies St Helier road to Williams road) early/mid December 2020
- Sheepways road, Krowera (from property no. 605 to end of seal) early/mid December 2020
- Watt street, Wonthaggi (between McBride avenue and Billson street) early to mid February
- White road, Wonthaggi (McKenzie street to George street) early/mid December 2020
- White road, Wonthaggi (George street to final seal) early/mid December 2020
In order to minimise disruptions and appropriate traffic control measures will be implemented onsite during these works. Dates may be subject to change. Challenges anticipatedCouncil acknowledges that it can be a challenge to deliver the necessary works and not affect road users, especially when much of the work is determined by weather conditions.It is expected that there will be some delays to traffic while these works are being carried out. Please plan your trip accordingly.The works will include the use of heavy plant and machinery and noisy works such as profiling and asphalt laying.
