Father of assaulted youth pleas for public help New Years Eve assault calls public attention By Antony Svasek - 3rd January 2001 - Back to News The father of a Melbourne teenager assaulted at a New Year's Eve party has made an emotional plea for any witnesses to come forward.
Nineteen-year-old David Thomson suffered severe head injuries in the attack at a free youth party in Melbourne's city centre.
His father Ray Thomson has appealed for anyone in the crowd who saw the assault to contact police.
