Big Nbn Truck A Big Success Photograph: A presentation inside the NBN Truck Around 200 people visited the NBN truck to ‘get up to speed’ on the latest about the National Broadband Network roll out. By Bass Coast - 24th February 2012 - Back to News The NBN truck spent last Tuesday, 21 February in the car park at Wonthaggi Safeway, where NBN Co staff gave a series of presentation sessions to groups that included school students.
The presenters explained the faster download speeds that will be available when the NBN is rolled out and gave reasons why the roll out is important for our community.
They demonstrated some of the equipment that would be installed inside and outside of a home or office and showed a video about online medical consultations and other applications.
In response to questions about when the NBN roll out will come to Bass Coast, they said that NBN Co will soon be releasing an installation plan of all the locations to have fibre installed over the next three years.
Steven Piasente, Bass Coast Shire Council’s Director of Community and Economic Development, Council is keen to see high speed broadband installed across the Shire because of the benefits it will bring to the community.
"Council has identified high speed broadband as essential infrastructure to improve the quality of life for our residents and business operators. "We maintain an interest in gaining the maximum benefits from the NBN roll out," Mr Piasente said.
