Christmas Lights Winners

11 Hagelthorn Street has taken out the honours in this year’s Bass Coast Christmas Lights competition.

Council’s Arts and Leisure Coordinator, Jenny Churchill said it was a hard task for this year’s judging.

"After much consideration by the Christmas Light Fairies, first place in this year’s competition was awarded to 11 Hagelthorne St, Wonthaggi," said Ms Churchill.

"We had over 20 entries and it was almost impossible to make a decision.

"The light displays and the creativity of the decorations were excellent," continued Ms Churchill.

Other awards included The Best Street, which was taken out by Lyndhurst Street, Wonthaggi.

Ms Churchill said The Bass Coast Theme Award was also a popular category.

"The winner in this section was No. 1 Leslie Court, Cowes, " said Ms Churchill.

"They even included a Santa on a motor bike in their Christmas display!

"Thank you to everyone who participated and helped light up Bass Coast this festive season," Ms Churchill concluded.

And the winners are:

First Prize 11 Hagelthorn Street, Wonthaggi

Second Prize – 20 Bent Street, Wonthaggi

Third Prize – 4410 Bass Highway, Wonthaggi

Novelty Award - 22 Anthony Court, Cowes

Bass Coast Theme Award – 1 Leslie Court Cowes

Special Commendation

  • 14 Oxford Way, Wonthaggi
  • 34 Powlett Street, Inverloch
  • 4080 Bass Highway, Dalyston (Make A Wish Foundation)
