Coronet Bay Streets Set For An Upgrade

Coronet Bay residents will benefit from an upgrade to local roads

By Carol McCormack - 30th September 2002 - Back to News

Construction of roads in Coronet Bay will begin during the week of 7 October 2002. Bass Coast Shire Council recently appointed Streetworks Pty Ltd to undertake the project.

Roads will be sealed and kerb and channel will be installed. Footpaths and parking will be constructed in some areas, and roads will be widened along bus routes.

"Coronet Bay residents will benefit from an upgrade to local roads that will make the area safer for traffic and pedestrians," said Cr John Gains, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council.

Work will take place in 6 stages, to ensure minimal disruption across the estate.

Extensive community consultation has taken place on the construction project, which was requested by the Coronet Bay Residents and Ratepayers Association.

The $3.3 million project is funded by Council and landowners in the areas that will be upgraded.

It is expected that the project will be finished in January 2004.
