Mayoral Fundraiser Concert
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Pamela Rothfield, is hosting a fundraising concert, Winter Vibes, on Friday, 18 June at 7.00pm at the Wonthaggi Union Community Arts Centre.
Winter Vibes will raise funds for the new model of Bass Coast Health’s valuable the Hospital in the Home (HITH) program.HITH will provide eligible acutely unwell patients with the specific treatment they require in the familiar and comfortable surroundings of their home. Cr Rothfield emphasised the importance of the program.
"This is a service which could be required by anyone and everyone - you, me, or someone close to us. For this reason we are really hoping that the community will get behind this event and help us raise these much needed funds," Cr Rothfield said.
This was echoed by Bass Coast Health CEO Jan Child, who also emphasised the value and importance of the HITH program.
"Hospital in the Home is a key service that has been provided in an ad hoc way in the past. We are keen to develop a contemporary program that can provide acute care to many patients in our community, in their own home environment, using the support of extremely senior and skilled nursing staff and medical staff," Mrs Child said.
"This program will provide significant support to patients requiring treatments such as intravenous antibiotics, infusions and complex wound care, and will ensure they receive this specialist care in the comfort of their own home."
Tickets are $35 per person, which includes concert entry, a drink and nibbles. There will also be a charity auction on the night to help reach the $15,000 target.
The concert will feature Australia’s finest Bluegrass band the Davidson Brothers, supported by local talent, the Bass Coast Pickers.
Tickets can be purchased online through trybooking. For more information or help with purchasing tickets, contact Council on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5671 2211.
