Tickets to the event sold out within a week and 200 guests were transported to France for a night of tres chic celebration. Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Veronica Dowman, said although the final tally was not available yet, she expected the ball would raise over $25,000. "It was a truly wonderful night and I am thrilled that so much has been raised to help those in need in our community," said Cr Dowman. "All the profits from the ball will go directly to the Bass Coast Community Foundation, to support local projects. "I want to thank the local business community for their support this year. An overwhelming 24 businesses sponsored the ball, which is a record in the ball’s eight year history," continued Cr Dowman. "Without the support of our corporate sponsors, community members and our volunteers, this event would not be possible. "I want to extend a special thank you to Kerryn Drennan, Wonthaggi Fabric and Beads and to Neville Goodwin for their generosity and support. "I also want to thank Council staff who donated their time and volunteered on the evening." Guests at this year’s event enjoyed a three course meal with a French flavour and entertainment. The Ball is hosted by Bass Coast Shire Council in support of the Bass Coast Community Foundation a charitable organisation that aims to support projects within Bass Coast.
