Northe Raises Need for Industry Support and Jobs
Spotlight on LV unemployment.
Member for Morwell Russell Northe yesterday by way of a Grievance Debate called upon the State Government to ensure local workers have future employment opportunities in traditional and new industries in the Latrobe Valley.
Mr Northe highlighted the challenges being experienced by the energy and resources, agriculture and timber industries and how poor Government policy and activist groups can impact these sectors.
Mr Northe also encouraged the State Government to implement some of his policy initiatives that in turn would create local employment and ensure local contractors have the opportunity to participate in Government related projects.
Mr Northe’s speech is incorporated into the Hansard excerpt attached, for your reference.
