Australia Day Celebrations in Inverloch Mike Larkin will be the Australia Day Ambassador at celebrations in Wonthaggi. Mike Larkin, Weatherman with Channel 10, will be the Australia Day Ambassador at celebrations in Inverloch By Bass Coast Shire Council - 15th January 2002 - Back to News Mike Larkin, Weatherman with Channel 10, will be the Australia Day Ambassador at celebrations in Inverloch on Saturday 26 January 2002.
The celebrations will take place at the Memorial Gardens at the Inverloch Community Centre.
There will be a flag raising ceremony at 8:30am. Official proceedings will start at 11:30am with a welcome from Peter Dalmau, President of the Inverloch RSL and Inverloch Australia Day Committee.
Official proceedings will include the lowering of flags and furl, announcement of the 2002 Bass Coast Shire Council Australia Day Award winners and an Australia Day Address from Mike Larkin
Mike Larkin is well known for his entertaining, informative and often humourous weather segment each evening on Channel 10. He has many years’ experience as a journalist and presenter with several radio and television stations.
Cr Miranda Sage, Mayor of Bass Coast Shire Council, will make presentations to the captains of the local fire brigades whose members recently helped battle the bushfires in NSW.
Dennis Kadmon and young residents from Bass Coast Shire will provide entertainment.
"Come along and enjoy Australia Day in Inverloch," said Cr Sage.
Australia Day Activities in Inverloch are proudly presented by the Inverloch RSL sub-Branch, Inverloch Historical Society, Rotary Club of Inverloch and Bass Coast Shire Council.
