Spectator Instructions Now Out For Alpine Rally The Spectator Instruction Guide is now out for the 2007 Alpine Rally on the event website www.alpinerally.org.au. By Owen Polanski - 19th November 2007 - Back to News The Spectator Instruction Guide is now out for the 2007 Alpine Rally on the event website www.alpinerally.org.au. There are 16 pages jam packed with useful info and maps detailing the 9 exciting spectator points that can be enjoyed over the weekend of November 24 and 25.
The highlight of the weekend will be the Forestech Spectator Point on the Sunday morning. Cars can be seen starting the Special Stage then through a chicane and then for another few hundred metres. Parking will be available in the Forestech College Carpark and the college cafeteria will be open for refreshments. This location is only 7 minutes from the event HQ in Lakes Entrance.
The start of the Alpine Rally from the Lakes Entrance Foreshore at 10am this Saturday promises to be a huge event for the locals. Bairnsdale Real Estate Agent John Hansen will be judging the best presented car and making the announcement just before car 1 is due to leave.
Another spectator point worth making the effort to get to will point 5 which is the first of the evening locations. This viewing point will be illuminated by a mobile floodlight supplied courtesy of Coates Hire in Bairnsdale.
As well as the spectator points in the forest there will be plenty of time to see the cars up close as they are serviced at the Orbost Footy Ground. Crews will visit this location 3 times during Saturday and once again catering will be supplied by the local football club.
A 4 page full colour liftout will appear in the East Gippsland News on November 21st. and extra copies of this will be available from the start in Lakes Entrance and at the Orbost Service Park.
Accommodation is still available through the East Gippsland Visitor Centre. To use this great service simply call 1800 637 060 or visit www.lakesandwilderness.com.au
