Children’s author to visit Morwell LibraryRachel Flynn, the widely-regarded children’s writer, will be visiting Morwell Library on Tuesday 17 June at 12 noon to promote her latest book called ‘On the Team’. By Latrobe City Council - 16th June 2003 - Back to News Latrobe City’s Library Co-ordinator, Noeline Grayden said that Ms Flynn‘s books are aimed at the under 12 age group.
"Rachel Flynn is well known for her popular series ‘I Hate Fridays’ which follows the antics of the students at the Koala Hills Primary School. The collection includes the titles ‘I Hate Fridays’, ‘Its Not Fair’, ‘Worried Sick’, ‘I Can’t Wait’ and ‘Messing Around’. Some of her books have been shortlisted for several awards chosen by children themselves," Ms Grayden said.
"Her latest book, ‘On the Team’ was published in May and is a great read about two boys finding a way to be who they want to be, and do what they love," Ms Grayden explained.
"Ms Flynn’s other recent releases are the companion picture books ‘My Mummy and Me’ and ‘My Daddy and Me’, ‘Sacked’ and ‘Whisper Wild Freedom Child,’ Ms Grayden continued.
Ms Grayden said that whilst at the library, Ms Flynn will be signing copies of the book as well as making a short presentation and doing some reading.
"Ms Flynn is a teacher and the mother of two children. While her children were growing up, Rachel began her writing career and has earned a reputation for her perceptive take on the everyday things that interest children," Ms Grayden concluded.
Rachel’s book ‘On the Team’ will be available to purchase on the day.
