Road Closed for Paving Works
Esplanade in Cowes will be closed to through traffic between Thompson Avenue and Warley Avenue for paving projects.
The Esplanade in Cowes will be closed to through traffic between Thompson Avenue and Warley Avenue, as part of ongoing Cowes Jetty Triangle Project works.
The road closure will be in place from Monday, 5 August to Monday 26 August, to allow for repair works to the cobblestone paving at the intersection of The Esplanade and Thompson Avenue, as well as additional asphalt works.
The works will see a section of the cobblestones at the intersection re-laid and a section of the cobblestones removed and replaced with asphalt, where the cobblestones overlay the pedestrian crossing.
Under the Contractor’s defects liability period, these works will be completed at no additional cost to Bass Coast Shire Council.
These works are being conducted during the off-peak season, in an effort to minimise the impact on nearby businesses and the community. Pedestrian movements will not be affected by the closure. Council asks that road users seek alternate routes and obey the traffic management signs during the works.
Council apologises for any inconvenience or disruptions that this may cause and is asking for everyone’s patience during this time. The contractor will endeavour to have these works completed as quickly as possible.
For more information on the project, please contact the contractor, Ace Landscape Services on 0455 774 551 or Council’s Infrastructure Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5671 2211. For project updates visit www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/projects.
