Gdl Chairman Departs For Warmer Climate

Graeme Pearce, the Chairman and Acting CEO of Gippsland Development Ltd has departed

Graeme Pearce, the Chairman and Acting CEO of Gippsland Development Ltd has departed from GDL and is destined for a warmer northern climate.

 

Graeme departs on Saturday for Queensland where he has accepted a position as the Executive Director of the newly formed Sunshine Coast Region of Councils -"SUNROC". Graeme and his wife Maggie will be based in Caloundra.

 

Formerly the CEO of Footscray council Graeme came to Gippsland as the City Manager for the City of Sale. After local council amalgamation Graeme became the CEO of East Gippsland Shire and has continued to contribute significantly to Gippsland during the past nine years that he has been in the region.

 

In addition to his involvement with GDL, Graeme has also been heavily involved with a number of other organizations including GLGN (Gippsland Local Government Network), GAF (Gippsland Agribusiness Forum) and a number of other local groups. Graeme has also represented a number of local bodies in developing business and educational relationships with China.

 

Graeme is succeeded as Chairman of GDL by Cr. Donald Cameron of Bass Coast Shire.

Senior Project Officer, Murray Lobley has been appointed Acting CEO by the GDL Board.


The GDL Board and staff  would like to extend their best wishes and thanks to Graeme and also  to acknowledge the tireless efforts that Graeme has made during the current negotiations concerning the future arrangements of GDL in Gippsland. An announcement regarding the outcomes of these negotiations is expected shortly.
