Melbourne Chamber Orchestra To Perform At Kernot HallKernot Hall in Morwell will come alive with the evocative sounds of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra (MCO) as they take their Spring Tour 2011 around regional venues. By Latrobe City - 17th October 2011 - Back to News Latrobe City’s performing arts and venues coordinator, Kathleen Roberts, said that the tour would focus on ‘The Four Seasons’ by Vivaldi.
"The work celebrates the passage of time and the cycle of life. Four soloists will perform, each bringing their individual colour and subtlety to each concerto," Ms Roberts said.
The joy and vitality of ‘Spring’ will be performed by Lynette Raver; the lazy heat of ‘Summer’ will be brought to life by Ji Won Kim; the changing season of ‘Autumn’ will be delivered by Anna McMichael whilst the chill of ‘Winter’ will be entrusted to Kathryn Lukey.
In addition to ‘The Four Seasons’ the concert will also feature Respighi’s third ‘Ancient Airs and Dances’ suite taking the audience on a journey through historic Italy; and Graeme Koehen’s ‘Shaker Dances’ evoking North American Shaker folk music.
The MCO is touring regional Victoria with the support of the Australia Council for the Arts, Arts Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria.
The MCO will perform at Kernot Hall, Morwell on Tuesday 18 October at 7pm. The Latrobe Performing Arts Bar will be open from 6pm. Book your ticket at the Box Office on 5176 3559.
