Trade Expo to celebrate company milestoneLong established Morwell industrial, engineering and safety goods supplier, Blackwoods, will hold a trade expo in October as part of the company’s 125 year birthday anniversary celebrations being conducted throughout Australia. By Latrobe City Council - 24th September 2003 - Back to News The trade and exhibition event, to be held in Kernot Hall, will feature displays from seventy companies who supply the Blackwoods outlets.
According to Leo Billington, Latrobe City Investment Manager, the trade expo will be well attended by clients from throughout Gippsland who will be able to network with key Australian industrial and engineering manufacturers and suppliers.
"While entry to the expo will be by invitation only, based on similar events held elsewhere in Australia, Blackwoods expect over 600 clients to attend during the day," Mr Billington said.
Blackwoods Morwell branch manager, Geoff Coulter, said a wide variety of exhibitors had been organised to make the trade expo unique, with the greatest range of industrial, engineering and safety products all under the one roof.
"Our Gippsland trade expo will generate additional business for the local community while providing networking and industry learning opportunities," Mr Coulter explained.
Mr Billington said Blackwoods was to be congratulated on their initiative in staging the expo. "Geoff Coulter and his team from Blackwoods in Morwell have not only taken up the challenge of staging a trade expo as part of their proactive marketing, but they have assembled a strong field of well known, top brand exhibitors to ensure the success of this celebratory function," Mr Billington said.
Mr Coulter said the company’s 125th birthday would be celebrated Australia wide. "We now have a national network of over 150 branches which makes Blackwoods the largest industrial and engineering supplier in Australia," Mr Coulter said.
"The Morwell store was established in 1988 and now services all of Gippsland from Drouin to the New South Wales border.
"Our Sydney head office will stage the company’s birthday finale in Sydney early in December in recognition of the success of the business, established by James Blackwood in Sydney in 1878," Mr Coulter added.
