Professor Clulow has a wide range of business experience in retail and services related industries and has worked as a consultant to a diverse number of Australian firms on projects related to strategic business development, marketing and management training and development. Professor Clulow commences on Monday, February 14.
Orientation Week or ‘O’ Week as it is called by staff and students at the Gippsland Campus begins on Friday, February 18 for international and residential students. ‘O’ Week for all commencing students begins on Tuesday, February 22 with the free muffin breakfast and the official welcoming ceremony by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Brian Mackenzie, the Mayor, Cr Bruce Lougheed and the Monash University Gippsland Student Union President, Mr Dan Jordan. With the restricted use of the Binishell, the traditional ‘Opening Ceremony’ will take on a slightly different look for the start of the 2005 academic year with all students being welcomed by the official speakers working on a rotational basis over three individual lecture theatres.
Planning Conference at the Gippsland Campus - Approximately 60 academic and administrative staff will participate in this weeks Planning Conference on the future direction of the Campus, with group sessions focusing on budgets, courses, governance, research priorities and academic programs. In preparation for this conference senior management attended a Monash wide conference in Making the GradeStudents who received second round offers enrolled at the Gippsland Campus on Friday, February 10. Monash University Gippsland Campus offered 76 round two places with the majority of offers being in Nursing and Arts.
Last week Chris Laming and Sue Yell from the School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences at the Gippsland Campus presented the Monash Prize to outstanding 2004 Year 11 students, Emily Travis from Bairnsdale Secondary College and Ben Hawke from Traralgon Secondary College.
