A total of 809 students selected Gippsland courses as their first choice for study in 2005, up from the previous record of 761 first round selections that was set in 2004. Overall demand for Gippsland courses has grown substantially since 2000. The courses which experienced substantial growth included the Bachelor of Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as double degrees in Arts/Education, Sport and Outdoor Recreation/Education and Nursing and Rural Health Practice.
