H&R Block offers Inaugural Regional Scholarship ProgramProgram aims to open up job opportunities within local communities By Portal Admin - 10th February 2018 - Back to News H&R Block’s annual Income Tax Course 2018 will be offering placements for 100 applicants to paritipcate under regional scholarships. Available at registered training centres within selected regional areas, the successful applicants’ fees will be waived for the 16-week course, at the end of which, they will be ready to begin a career as a tax consultant. The application window will remain open until the course commences on 12th February 2018.
H&R Block Managing Director, Brodie Dixon, is optimistic about the initiative and its potential to assist those in regional communities as they take their first steps toward a rewarding career in the industry.
"Helping Australians is at the core of our service offering, so we’re extremely proud to be reaching out to those who may not have otherwise considered our income tax course," he says. "If they’re good with numbers and great with people, there’s a very strong chance they’ll end up a member of the H&R Block Team, so I couldn’t be more thrilled to see the scholarship program rolled out this year. I’m particularly pleased to give more regional Australians, including older ones, the chance to retrain in another industry with solid employment prospects."
The income tax course classes start week commencing 12 February, 2018, and continue for 16 weeks, comprising of online tutorials and weekly three-hour instructor led workshops. At the end of the course, students will have all the skills they need to successfully prepare tax returns and begin a career in tax consulting.
The scholarships program will be available to applicants in selected regions: Cessnock, Coffs Harbour (includes Grafton area), Erina, Kempsey, Moree, Nelson Bay, Singleton, Woy Woy, Northern NSW; Bathurst, Cooma, Goulburn, Wagga wagga, Southern NSW; Gympie, Maryborough, Berserker, Queensland; Warrnambool, South West Victoria; Traralgon, Eastern Victoria; Albury, Echuca, Shepparton, Swan Hill, Wangaratta, Northern Victoria; Wendouree, North West Victoria; Busselton, Collie, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
