‘Through Our Eyes’ is a free photographic exhibition by Kirsty Fiddian being held in the ‘Knuckle’ at Monash University Gippsland Campus from Sunday, July 17 until Friday, July 22. Participants in the exhibition, from Iraq, Afghanistan, India and Uganda,

were given a disposable camera and asked to photographically record what life was like to them as a refugee in Australia.

The latest exhibition to open at the Gippsland Campus Switchback Gallery is titled ‘Reasoning and the Great Australian Dream’ by Sarah Adams. Through photographic and video installation the exhibition looks at the ways in which we understand our past based on the photographic evidence presented to us.

David Osborne from Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) will be speaking to Careers Advisers from Gippsland Secondary Schools on Thursday, July 28 at the Gippsland Campus. Careers Advisers will be updated on Year 12 selection processes, changes being made to the offer process and special entry issues.

• Making the Grade

Secondary students from schools across Gippsland will be on campus attending the Churchill Health Careers Workshop on Friday, July 22. Expert presenters, informative displays and tertiary student mentoring are some of the options available to students on the day. Students will also have practical experience sessions and attend workshops with a variety of health professions.

Kurnai College will be holding an information evening on Thursday, July 21 from 7pm at the Gippsland Campus. Professor Brian Mackenzie will be one of the guest speakers informing prospective students and parents of the potential opportunities available through the new Gippsland Education Precinct.

• Open Subject

Over the next two weeks staff from the Faculties of Nursing, Art & Design, IT, Business and Economics and Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences will be visiting various secondary schools around Gippsland to discuss entry requirements, course outcomes and answer questions with prospective students.
