By Bass Coast - 28th October 2011 - Back to News The You Me Unity panel are conducting a survey to help it consider what it will recommend to the government. The survey can be completed on line at www.youmeunity.org.au. The survey is open up to 5.00pm on 8 November 2011.
Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Dowman, highlighted that we have a small but active Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in Bass Coast.
"We encourage all members of this community to fill out the Survey. "This is an opportunity for all Australians to have their views considered," said Cr Dowman.
Patrice Mahoney, a local indigenous worker in Bass Coast South Gippsland said this is something that is important to all people in Australia. "I call on the ATSI community to have a voice in the consultation."Come on you mob, get of ya moom and stand up, be proud, make Australia Deadly", said Ms Mahoney.
To assist the community to access the survey Ms Mahoney has organised internet access and support at Chisholm Institute of TAFE Bass Coast Campus Wonthaggi on Monday 7 November, from 3.15pm to 5.15pm.
