By Karen Cashman - 10th August 2005 - Back to News

The Gippsland Sports Academy MEDICO HYGIENE SERVICES BADMINTON PROGRAM is performing well on the court.  Two squad players have been selected in teams.

JACK BURGESS  has been selected in the U15 Team and JESSICA LYONS in the OPEN team.

This is a great achievement by both players.  They gained selection by competing well in tournaments throughout the year.

JACK will compete in the Val Nesbitt Championships to be held in Geelong from September 29th - October 2nd.  Many of Australia's best U15 players will compete in this carnival.  Victoria hopes to repeat last years performance as they are the defending champions.

JESSICA will compete in the Clendinnen Shield and Australian Championships to be held in Kilsyth from 5th - 11th September.  All of Australia's national players will be attending this tournament gaining practice for the Commonwealth Games.

This is JESSICA's second time representing Victoria at a senior level.  Before this carnival, JESSICA will compete in the Australian International at Ballarat, to gain more international experience and try to boost her world ranking.

Well done to these players - all their hard work and commitment has paid off.  All members involved with the MEDICO HYGIENE SERVICES BADMINTON PROGRAM compete at very high standards of the sport and are all to be congratulated.

MEDICO HYGIENE SERVICES is PROUD to be the major sponsor of the GIPPSLAND SPORTS ACADEMY - BADMINTON PROGRAM.
