The first intake of students at the new Gippsland Education Precinct (GEP) are slated to move on campus in 2005. In preparation, a ‘GEP-Together’ has been organised for staff from Kurnai College, Gippsland Group Training (GGT), GippsTAFE, Monash University and Latrobe City to explore ways in which they can add value to learning for students in the Latrobe Valley. The two day workshop will be held at Monash University Gippsland Campus on December 7 and 8 providing an opportunity for staff in related subject areas to discuss their courses, student interests and expertise. The outcome of the ‘GEP-Together’ is for staff to develop collaborative activities that can be implemented in 2005 which may include students attending specialist lectures or presentations at Monash or GippsTAFE, information sessions on traineeships and apprenticeships offered through GGT, links with Latrobe City venues and the development of courses or workshops that would complement learning programs across the sectors.
