Business Tourism Operators Invited To Attend Network MeetingThe recently established business tourism network for the region is holding a second meeting on Wednesday 7 March at the Century Inn in Traralgon from 2pm to discuss By Latrobe City Council - 2nd March 2007 - Back to News partnership opportunities and the future plans for the group. All operators from the region are invited to attend.
Latrobe City’s tourism co-ordinator, Linda Brock said that the next meeting would again be facilitated by Tom Smith.
"The facilitator, Tom Smith, a board member for Tourism Victoria and Tourism Alliance, as well as CEO of Shipwreck Coast Tourism will direct the meeting as well as sharing his broad knowledge of tourism with participants," Ms Brock said.
"Other speakers will include Councillor Darrell White, Chair of the Latrobe Regional Advisory Board and Chris Buckingham, Manager, Gippsland Tourism," Ms Brock added.
"The network represents tourism in its many forms, not just catering for travellers on holiday, but also corporate tourism, conference tourism and visiting friends and relatives. Working together will enable local and regional tourism operators to benefit from a combined approach and this meeting may provide a springboard for future collaborations, joint initiatives and network partnerships," Ms Brock said.
"We would like to extend an invitation to all businesses to join the group. We have members from Walhalla, Mirboo North, Pakenham as well as the Latrobe Valley and would welcome any business tourism operator, be it motel, event facility or other business with a keen interest in enhancing tourism and associated opportunities across the region as a whole," Ms Brock concluded.
