Monash University Weekly Bulletin

By Monash University, Gippsland - 13th December 2004 - Back to News

• Mark the calendar

Next week is expected to be a hectic time for Year 12 students who receive their ENTER scores on Monday, December 13 and then have one week to make their final decision as to which universities and courses they want to study. To help students with this decision, Monash University Gippsland Campus will be holding a Change of Preference session in the Faculty of Business & Economics Conference room on Tuesday, December 14 from 3-6pm.

The Australian Sustainable Industry Research Centre Ltd (ASIRC) at the Gippsland Campus is taking the leading role in the formation of the Victorian New Water Alliance. ‘New Water’ is simply water that we are currently wasting and used for industrial and other purposes, discarded, treated and then discharged to the environment. The Alliance will identify areas where technologies can be applied to recover and reuse this water resource.

Ms Ying Liu, School of Computing & Information Technology at the Gippsland Campus attended the 2004 Pacific-Rim Conference on Multimedia held in Tokyo recently. Ying presented two papers written by herself and colleagues Dengsheng Zhang, Guojun Lu, Wei-Ying Ma and Manoranjan Paul and Manzur Murshed.
