Neighbourhood Watch beats all oddsLocal business to business support overwhelms Neighbourhood Watch By Emma Kae - 29th June 2001 - Back to News Neighbourhood Watch
Business in the Gippsland region has never looked so promising. The quality of local products and workmanship is astounding, and the support from the local community is really encouraging.
Recently, the local division of Neighbourhood Watch noted that the publication of their newsletter was under threat. Due to an inability to find sponsorship to support the newsletter’s production, a lack of funding was threatening to close down operations.
The team at Messenger (creators of Gippslander.com) heard of the pressing troubles at Neighbourhood Watch. Having identified a need for the public to have access to this kind of information, it was decided that publication of the newsletter must continue.
Together with the support of fourteen other businesses (click here to see who) nearly $4000 was raised to aid the cause of the Neighbourhood Watch newsletter. In addition, the APM has donated 150,000 sheets of paper for newsletter production.
The amount of local business to business support in the area is absolutely incredible. In the words of the latest edition of the Neighbourhood Watch newsletter: “this just goes to prove that there are concerned and generous people who will come forward to help organisations, such as NHW, when they are in need.”
