Perform At The Performance SpaceAs works near completion, it’s time to breath life into Wellington Shire’s new Entertainment Centre. By Wellington Shire Council - 22nd August 2003 - Back to News Council is calling for the community to become involved in celebrating the opening of its new $6 million performance space.
The Esso BHP- Billiton Wellington Entertainment Centre will allow Wellington to host major acts –theatre, arts, circus, comedians, and cabaret shows - that haven’t had a venue before.
It’s on track for a November opening, and Council has some grand activities planned to mark its opening.
For those who’d like to take centre stage… and those who prefer to be behind the scenes…. there are many opportunities to be involved.
Volunteers are being sought to perform in "Tripping The Light", a community performance that celebrates the Wellington community and the opening of the new facility. Tripping The Light will be part of a three-week opening festival.
Volunteers are also sought for administration and information roles.
Meanwhile, there’s an opportunity to arrange a Christmas party with a difference.
