Succession Workshop On Strategic Financial PlanningThe second in a series of workshops to assist small to medium businesses with succession planning takes place next Tuesday, 31 July 2007. By Latrobe City Council - 26th July 2007 - Back to News The workshop, hosted by Latrobe City and funded by the Australian Government through the Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business Program, will be led by a qualified practicing accountant and highlight strategic financial planning.
The strategic financial planning workshop follows a recent workshop attended by around 25 business people, addressed by guest speaker David Wittner. Mr Whittner is chair of the Wittner Shoe Group that operates 42 women’s fashion footwear stores in four states across Australia.
According to Leo Billington, Latrobe City’s senior business development officer, Mr Wittner spoke about his personal experience in succession planning from a management and equity point of view.
"Mr Wittner provided an invaluable insight into how his family worked through their business succession with a strategy that has proven to be most successful," Mr Billington said.
Further workshops are planned through the rest of the year until late October. In all, ten different workshops will be conducted to address the all important issue of succession planning. This unique program will provide information and mentoring to participating businesses.
"Other topics to be covered during the business succession program include legal options, asset transfers, risks and contingencies and valuing the business.
The strategic financial planning workshop takes place from 1.30pm until 5.30pm at the Civic Centre in Kay Street, Traralgon. Bookings are essential and the cost is $15 to cover refreshments. For further information, contact Leo Billington on 0407 541 258.
