Preschool enrolments go online

Preschool enrolments are opening on 9 June and for the first time it can be completed online.

Latrobe City Council’s mayor, Councillor Michael Rossiter, said that information sessions would provide further detail about preschool enrolments.

"We will be holding three information sessions on 6, 7, and 8 June to ensure that parents’ questions can be addressed. Our new online enrolments are very simple but there are often general questions around choice of centre, session days and times and fees etc that can be answered broadly at these sessions.

"Once enrolments open there will be an opportunity for parents or carers to visit our preschool centres to have a look round and chat with the friendly team. These open days, to be held on 14 and 15 June, are a great source of information, where you can look around the facility and ask specific questions," Cr Rossiter said.

"Whilst we would encourage everyone to enrol online we are aware that there may be some community members who are unable to do so. You can still collect a preschool enrolment pack from our service centres, preschools or early learning centres. Enrolments can be then be made in person at any of our service centres or at one of our early learning centres where a member of our friendly team can help you complete your form. You can also enrol by post.

"The benefits of preschool to a child’s early learning potential are invaluable. Children learn through play and our structured and tailored learning plans are delivered by qualified early learning teachers. The program provides fun and engaging play spaces as well as social opportunities that boost your child’s confidence as they head towards their primary school education," Cr Rossiter concluded.
