Professor Brian Mackenzie, Pro Vice-Chancellor at Gippsland Campus indicated that the passage of the new higher education reform package late last week should be good news for Monash University Gippsland Campus. The passage of the bill is expected to give some certainty to universities for their long-term planning and for Gippsland Campus should result in additional places in high-demand courses such as nursing and education. It was also good news--and critical to the passage of the bill-- that the government removed the link between $404 million in funding and industrial relations reforms.
