BigGig entries now open. As part of Open Day 2007, Monash Gippsland is once again running the BigGig at Monash competition. Bands, ensembles and solo artists from around the region can enter the competition, with prizes for the band who bring the biggest crowd, as well as a judges award. Bands made up of high school or TAFE students are encouraged to enter. Entries close June 25. For further information, contact Joseph Bonnici at Gippsland Education Precinct. Monash Gippsland Open Day will be held on August 4.

Monash University Gippsland Student Union is offering five scholarships to female students throughout the Latrobe Valley, from VCE/IB or equivalent through to Monash Gippsland Students. The purpose of the Scholarships is to encourage women to further their education. The Scholarships are a part of Blue Stocking Week, which historically celebrates the achievements of women in education and will be presented at a 5-star event organised by MUGSU; Blue Stockings by the lake. The Scholarships cover three categories: Indigenous, Community Contributor and Equity and each is to the value of $1,000.
