Architect appointed for Yinnar school upgrade
Primary school upgrades for better accessibility of the students.
Better facilities are on their way for students at Yinnar Primary School with the appointment of an architect to design the school’s important upgrade thanks to the Andrews Labor Government. Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced DiMase Architects would design works to be undertaken at Yinnar Primary School to deliver much-needed upgrades.

Easy access amenities for the students
The Labor Government has provided $463,125 to go towards toilet upgrades to support amenity, hygiene and accessibility. The Victorian Budget 2020/21 invests $70 million in the new Minor Capital Works Fund, which includes $20 million as previously announced as part of the Building Works Package. Schools have been allocated funding to fast-track priority projects under the Minor Capital Works Fund to improve learning environments as well as the condition and character of schools.
In the past five years, the Victorian Government has invested more than $9 billion in more than 1,600 school upgrades – creating more than 10,000 construction jobs – and is now ahead of schedule its commitment to open 100 new schools by 2026, with 48 new schools opening between 2019 and 2022.
Schools to the best facilities
Minister for Education James Merlino said, "Every student should have a great school, no matter where they live. That’s why we’re investing in hundreds of small but important projects that will make a big difference for schools and create jobs for Victorians."
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing said, "We’re making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed. Yinnar families are a step closer to getting the great local school facilities their kids need to thrive with the appointment of DiMase Architects."
