International Agents from Indonesia, India and Vietnam will be visiting the Gippsland Campus this week to gain a better understanding of the Campus to market in their countries. The agents are specifically employed to market regional campuses in Australia.

Mr John Mitchell, CEO, Gippsland Water will give a presentation on the Gippsland Water Factory at the Monash University Gippsland Campus Advisory Council meeting on Tuesday, May 23.

Associate Professor Jenny Hocking from Gippsland School of Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences will be guest presenter at the Gippsland Ethnic Communities’ Council Inc public lecture on Wednesday, May 24 at the Hall of the Greek Orthodox Community of Gippsland, Elgin Street, Morwell at 7pm. Associate Professor Hocking will discuss ‘From Internment to Sedition: Can Australian Democracy Survive the Terror Laws?’

‘A Suite of Songs’ is the theme for the Gippsland Campus free lunchtime concert on Wednesday, May 24. Oliver Mann (baritone), accompanied by Robyn Cochrane on piano, will sing a varied repertoire of songs from the 1800’s and 1900’s as well as several original compositions. The concert is held in the Hexagon at 1.10pm. All welcome.

‘The Limits of Radical Dissent: The Barring of Wilfred Burchett from Australiawill be presented by Tom Heenan at the Humanities, Communications and Social Sciences Research Forum on Thursday, May 25.

Aeron Hurt, PhD student will present ‘Virulence and antiviral resistance in human and avian influenza viruses’ at the Applied Sciences Research Forum on Friday, May 26.

Making the Grade

Sport and Outdoor Recreation students from the Gippsland Campus are currently working on a Government initiative, 'Active After School Care' to get primary and secondary school children from in front of the computer and taking part in interactive games, socialising and getting fit after school. The active participants are from local primary and secondary schools.

Open Subject

The Access Education Mid Year Unit 3 Exam Revision for Year 12 secondary students will be held at the Gippsland Campus on Sunday, May 28 from 9am-4.30pm. Subjects included are Biology, Chemistry, Accounting, Psychology and Physics.
