Enrol in 2004 courses at the Warragul Campus!GippsTAFE’s Warragul campuses has experienced a surge in enrolment numbers this year, although there are still a few places available in some courses. By GippsTAFE - 19th February 2004 - Back to News Prospective students can still enrol in Hospitality, Business Studies, IT and Health and Community Studies courses, although they are urged to do so quickly to ensure a place for this year.
Overall, more students have decided to study at TAFE in West Gippsland than ever before, according to Warragul Campus Manager Doug Mullen.
Research undertaken by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research provides some compelling reasons to consider a course at TAFE.
"It is interesting to note that the study found 88% of GippsTAFE students were either employed or undertaking further study after finishing their courses, and three quarters of TAFE graduates are employed within 6 months of completing their course," Said Mr Mullen.
"Just as importantly, the starting salary for GippsTAFE graduates was more than $32,000 a year.
"The survey also found that TAFE graduates are employed across a much wider range of occupations than University graduates, which demonstrates that in terms of employment outcomes, TAFE opens up a lot of doors."
Courses that are still open for enrolment include Certificate III Multimedia, Certificate II Business (Office Administration), Certificate III and IV Financial Services, Certificate I Information Technology, Certificate IV in Business (Small Business Management), Certificate IV in Disability Work, Certificate II Hospitality (Operations) and Certificate III Hospitality (Operations).
GippsTAFE also customises upskilling and other courses for industry.
For more information on any of the above courses please contact the Warragul Campus on 5623 2740.
