Exciting Pop-Up Playgroup Program for Baw Baw Shire to create more fun-filled events for young families
Baw Baw Shire launches Pop-Up Playgroup program, offering fun activities for young families. The 12-month program begins in August at various locations.
An exciting new playgroup program is set to start popping up across Baw Baw Shire, providing young families with exciting new entertainment opportunities. The Pop-Up Playgroup program aims to introduce new residents and new families to the benefits that council's playgroup services have to offer in a fun, engaging and social setting. Featuring music, crafts, physical play and story time activities, the sessions will cater for children of all interests and help Baw Baw's youngest residents, and their parents, build new bonds with their fellow community members.
Stay tuned for future event dates of the Pop-Up Playgroup for ages 0-5, parents must actively supervise children during sessions
Early years investment
Mayor of Baw Baw Shire, Councillor Annemarie McCabe said, "Through a continued investment in early years programs, we're setting families, and their little ones, up for success later in life."
"I'm looking forward to seeing the program make its way around the Shire, bring families together for a bit of fun and show them what council can do for them." The program will also allow parents to ask questions and learn more about council's family and children's service programs, such as immunisation, family day care and kindergarten enrolments.
Playgroup pop-up events
The 12-month program will begin in August, with the first two pop-up sessions set to be delivered in Warragul and Drouin, respectively.
- Wednesday 9 August - 10am - 11:30am
Warragul Community Garden, Eastern Park Warragul (entry via Cambridge Drive) - Wednesday 23 August - 10am - 11:30am
Ferntree Park, Drouin (located on Staghorn Way, Drouin)
With dates for future events soon to be announced, residents are encouraged to keep a keen eye on council's events calendar on Pop-Up Playgroup page and social media accounts for the latest details. The Pop-Up Playgroup program is suitable for children between the ages of 0 - 5 years old. Parents and carers are required to actively supervise their children throughout the events.
The launch of the Pop-Up Playgroup follows the success of Monday Music with Fiddlesticks at West Gippsland Arts Centre and the Baw Baw Early Years Expo and is the latest in a long line of family friendly initiatives delivered by Baw Baw Shire Council.
