Funding project completion
Mr Chester said he was looking forward to the project welcoming visitors once the entryway and signage were completed. "The community has done an incredible job to get the project this far, and we discussed tactics for securing the $2.7 million we need to finish the restoration. I will be making the case in Canberra that the full social and economic benefits of this project will only be delivered when we complete the missing section in the middle," Mr Chester said.
The community has secured more than $4 million in state and federal government funding to get the project to this stage, and detailed costings have been prepared for the final section to complete the work.
