Bass Shire Council investigates road and drainage improvements to Sunderland Bay and Surf Beach estates
Bass Coast Shire Council is exploring the possibility of implementing a road and drainage improvement program for the Sunderland Bay and Surf Beach estates.
The improvement program would involve a special charge scheme and council is beginning community consultation with residents, property owners and interested community members from Monday, 25 October until Monday, 22 November.
The initial community consultation phase will primarily take place online, provide your feedback on the designated page
Members to see other member's comments
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Brett Tessari said, "This consultation will enable council to gather information from property owners, around issues they are currently experiencing, such as flooding, traffic, dust, lighting and pedestrian access."
"The online engagement platform will allow community members to see each other's comments and add to the discussion, similar to how an in person engagement session would operate, we encourage all impacted residents and ratepayers, as well as the wider community, to provide feedback and participate in the engagement." Cr Tessari said.
Potential progress
Following this consultation period, a report outlining the feedback received and the potential to progress the project with detailed investigation and further community engagement will be considered at a council meeting in early 2022. If supported by council and the community, this would be the largest special charge scheme undertaken in Bass Coast.
