Submission to VicGrid

South Gippsland Shire Council's submission to VicGrid supports renewable energy but stresses the need to protect agricultural and tourism lands. It includes feedback, collaboration goals, responses to recent studies, and advocacy priorities.

South Gippsland Shire Council has developed a submission to VicGrid's draft Victorian Transmission Plan Guidelines. The submission highlights council's support for renewable energy development in principle, but recognises the changing energy landscape. However, council's support is measured, considering the need to limit negative impacts on our nationally-significant agricultural and tourism land, especially the impacts to our economy, local character, natural landscape, culture and environment.

The submission supports renewable energy but emphasises cautious development to protect agricultural and tourism lands, considering economic and environmental impacts
