Work is progressing well on a long-awaited safety upgrade to a Traralgon railway crossing, according to local MP Darren Chester. Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester and State Member for Morwell Martin Cameron are pleased that work has started on the McNairn Road railway crossing project
Mr Chester said, "The crossing is currently not safe for pedestrians and is putting lives at risk and it's good to see work has started. The community has been seeking this upgrade for several years and a proper pedestrian crossing will mean locals won't have to make risky decisions around oncoming traffic and trains." Latrobe City Council is administering the project which is expected to be completed by the end of May.
