List of free community events across Latrobe City to celebrate Australia Day
Various community events will be held across Latrobe City on Australia Day.
Free community events will be held in Boolarra, Churchill, Moe, Morwell, Toongabbie, Traralgon, Yallourn North and Yinnar. Events include a variety of activities; free breakfasts, live music, flag raising and family entertainment. Council is throwing the ultimate pool party with free entry to the Moe and Yallourn North outdoor pools, Churchill, Moe Newborough and Morwell Leisure Centres along with the Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre in Traralgon.
Latrobe City Council invites you to join in the Australia Day Awards Ceremony and various free events that will be held across Latrobe City
Citizenship ceremony
New citizens will be welcomed at a Citizenship Ceremony. Our Community Awards will commence at the:
- Gippsland Performing Arts Centre
- 1.30pm
- Live streamed via council's YouTube channel
Award categories include Citizen of the Year, Senior of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Event of the Year and Community Service of the Year.
Providing opportunities
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Kellie O'Callaghan said there would be a lot on offer during the day. "We are providing opportunities for our community to come together and share in a range of activities. There's going to be lots happening and plenty for the whole family to enjoy," said the Mayor.
