Project highlights

The project is intended to encourage pedestrian movement around the town centre of Korumburra, making it easier for the community to access facilities and additional car parking. The pedestrian link and public space will feature:

  • Lighting and CCTV to ensure visibility and safety
  • Opportunity for future public art or murals
  • Benches for seating
  • Water fountain

It is important that the existing building is safely demolished to make way for this new asset. Other works will include:

  • Construction of a new structural masonry boundary wall
  • Concrete footpath with stone accents
  • Landscaping consistent with the streetscape works and Korumburra Community Hub, including mudstone boulders, planting and drainage
  • Realignment of the kerb and pram crossing on Little Commercial Street for improved access to the Korumburra Community Hub

The project is expected to start in early 2025, with completion expected in mid-2025. For more information on this and other projects happening in Korumburra, please visit South Gippsland - Korumburra Projects website.

I look forward to seeing the project completed."
